TRINA NJOROGE WINNER FACE OF KENYA USA 2015- BRAND AMBASSADOR
FUNDS RAISED - $7,505
FUNDS SATUS: DELIVERED TO ANGELS FORGOTTEN. ELBURGON, KENYA. My name is Trina Wambui Njoroge. I was born and raised in Bakersfield California; I'm currently a freshman pursuing a degree in Biology. Being a Kenyan American, and having studied in Kenya for one year at Mt. Kenya Academy, I have followed and observed the Kenyan culture closely and that has kept me connected to my roots. When I heard about the FACE of Kenya USA pageant contest, I saw a perfect opportunity for me to give back to the country my parents and I love dearly. As our Kenyan anthem says and I quote," May we dwell in unity, peace and liberty plenty be found within our borders" I always pray that we achieve and maintain peace and liberty and find ways and means to fight hunger and poverty in the country. Growing up in the United States, I've always felt a need to do something meaningful in our country ‘Kenya” and I think I have just found the way do that. Thank you to Face of Kenya USA. My Charity is known as “Angels Forgotten”. based in Elburgon Kenya. NJERI MAINA - SECOND RUNNER UP AND CHARITY PATRON

Its a project where you Kenyans are mentored to become the best leaders of the future . President and Founder The platform was founded by Mrs Janet Wainaina in 2012 and has been very instrumental in helping the less privileged back in Kenya through the Charity of Choice program . Being a Kenyan American causes me to remain passionate about my beautiful mother land and stay connected to my roots. For more than 10 years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of working with the young people. I’ve passionately served as an advocate for those who are underserved in St. Louis, Kansas, Texas, California, New Jersey, New York and my beautiful country Kenya. I’ve also had the opportunity to serve with AmeriCorps in helping rebuild communities in Brooklyn, a Youth Director in the NJ local chapter for the Kenyan Christian Fellowship Kenyan Community, Refill Ministries, the Kenya Diaspora Community, and also volunteered with Charity; Water helping provide clean water and build wells across the nations. When I am not teaching or volunteering, you’ll find me emerged in the arts of writing, acting, singing, dancing and cooking among many other passions. Am humbled and honored that I still get to represent my beautiful country in my everyday life while still exercising the act of service through my non-profit organization; Abandon No One (ANO). My mission has always been to Educate, Empower & Elevate all people across the different cultures through the education and the arts. Serving is and will always be part of me. This year I am honored and humbled to be part of this great platform which embodies the true meaning of giving back and building each other. I'll get to serve hand in hand with a non-profit organization that’s very dear to my heart. I have partnered up with Mama Mary ;founder of Gladways Center School. She has rescued abandoned children and children who have been mistreated and abused. Many of these children are coming from homes that are stricken with HIV. Others are raised by single parents or come from jobless homes where food is scarce.. |
